The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the total “economic burden” of prescription opioid misuse alone in the United States is $78.5 billion a year, including the costs of healthcare, lost productivity, addiction treatment, and criminal justice involvement. We knew someone had to get involved and help this widespread epidemic, so WE FOUNDED the OID COIN. 50% of our efforts go to our Founding partner SoberLifeUSA as well as the other recovery centers who have signed on to use our coin as payment since the conception of the coin.
